CarePICS Launches Revamped Product That Combines Four Key Solutions into One-Simple Application
CarePICS is creating a smart way to manage patients with wounds and vascular disease.
RALEIGH – December 1, 2020 – Today CarePICS, a Research-Triangle-based company, launched a brand new version of its IOS and Android applications that combine its four key solutions — Report, Consult, Visit and Order —that previously existed as stand-alone applications. CarePICS now also tracks provider activity and documents time spent for potential billing of clinical services.
Many providers use a combination of paper faxes, phone calls and unsecure text messaging to transmit clinical data about patients with wounds. If two independent providers treat the same patient and do not utilize the same EMR, all communication must be handled manually. How often do providers text images of patient’s wounds to each other’s mobile phones? How often do faxed referral orders get sent and the patient is never scheduled for a specialist appointment? How often does a patient fail to return to the provider who initially requested a specialist consult? Too often.
CarePICS solves these problems by providing an easy-to-use mobile and web application for clinicians to perform activities related to treating vascular and wound care patients. You can request and provide specialty consults, create and send clinical reports, schedule and perform telehealth visits with patients and even order medical supplies. CarePICS enables HIPAA-compliant sharing of video, voice, text and images between users.
CarePICS even has a no-touch wound measure feature that calculates surface area, length and width. Providers are able to track wound healing over time, trend and predict the potential time for healing. They can use this information to create a care plan for the continued treatment and oversight of vascular and wound care patients.
“Our goal with CarePICS is make it simple for providers to consolidate the actions they perform in the treatment of these patients and effectively and securely communicate with their colleagues about the best pathway forward for the patient,” said Terry Williams, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of CarePICS. “There are thousands of providers right now that could benefit from this type of platform. As telehealth continues to evolve, we think CarePICS is extremely well positioned to provide value to podiatrists, wound care clinicians, vascular specialists and even primary care physicians.”
